?Mercedes Benz World 10k? Mixed emotions about this one. A combination of factors meant I ended up on the struggle bus after about five steps. It was a fight from start to finish. I’ve also been nursing a pounding headache since I got home. But my dad came with me and we had a lovely day and that was great. And I love to race. I just love it. That was so hard! Legs definitely still tired from breaking my 5k PB on Wednesday, and there were a couple of cocktails last night, but the biggest issue for me was the heat. There was no shelter on the course, so a slower pace was necessary. First lap (5k) was ok, tired by the end, but done in just a few seconds over 30minutes, but the second lap was the killer, and therefore was much slower. Finish time was 1:03:29, but looking at my splits is quite fun because for the first lap I got slower each kilometre, and for the second lap I managed negative splits and sped up the whole time.
