A partially closed road crossing route for 2019 with heavily marshalled town areas, crossing points and supported and managed by SafeRace Event Control
The race starts below Walton Bridge, on the Tow Path that sits alongside the river and opposite our Race Village. You will run down the Tow Path heading towards Weybridge with the River Thames to your right hand side. Once you reach the end of the Tow Path you will come out onto Thames Street where you will stay on the pavement. Head up this road past the two well known pubs (The Minnow & the Old Crown) and you will see the Weybridge Monument ahead of you.
Carry on the right hand side of the pavement and run through the town before crossing the road at our marshalled traffic controlled point, you will then continue on the left hand side of the pavement as you run further through the town and up the challenging Hanger Hill (Once you are over this hill it is all down from there!)
Keep running and you will see some of the more scenic and woody sights of Weybridge as you head towards the Train Station, this part of the route is fairly open so you will be able to make up some good time that you may have dropped at Hanger Hill. Once you pass the station you will run back into Weybridge High Street but this time cutting down the Boutique street known as Baker Street and looping around the residential estate known as Hillcrest.
As you run down Baker Street you will be marshalled across the road so that you can be on the right hand side ready to turn right back through the town. Head further down the High Street towards our second marshalled traffic controlled point opposite Weybridge Monument and then head back down the pavement on the left hand side of Thames Street.
You will find yourself back on the Tow Path with the river running on your left as you make your way back to our finish line, this is a great stretch to pick up the pace as runners will be spread further apart.
